By accessing or using the event management platform operated by Kivalliq Chamber of Commerce ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Service.
Definitions
- "Service" refers to our event management platform, website, and related services
- "User," "you," or "your" refers to any individual or entity using our Service
- "Event Organizer" refers to organizations or individuals who create and manage events through our platform
- "Attendee" refers to individuals who register for or purchase tickets to events
- "Content" refers to any text, images, videos, or other materials posted on or through our Service
Acceptance of Terms
By using our Service, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years of age, or have parental consent if under 18
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- All information you provide is accurate and current
Account Registration
Account Creation
To use certain features of our Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your account information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any security breach
- Ensuring you log out at the end of each session
Use of the Service
Permitted Use
You may use our Service to:
- Browse and search for events
- Register for events and purchase tickets
- Create and manage events (if you are an Event Organizer)
- Communicate with event organizers and attendees
- Access event information and materials
Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Transmit any harmful code, viruses, or malicious software
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Collect or harvest personal information about other users
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Violate any intellectual property rights
- Use the Service to spam, harass, or harm others
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use the Service in any way that could damage our reputation
Event Registration and Ticket Purchases
Registration Process
When you register for an event or purchase tickets:
- You provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for ensuring you meet any event requirements
- Registration is subject to event capacity and availability
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel registrations at our discretion
Pricing and Payment
- All prices are displayed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated
- Prices include applicable taxes (GST) as required by law
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe
- We accept credit cards and invoice payments as specified
- You authorize us to charge your payment method for the full amount
Payment Terms
- Payment is due at the time of registration unless invoice payment is selected
- For invoice payments, payment is due within 30 days of invoice date
- Failure to pay invoices by the due date may result in cancellation of registration
- All sales are final unless otherwise stated in the event's cancellation policy
Ticket Confirmation
- You will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration
- Tickets are delivered electronically via email
- You must present your ticket (digital or printed) at the event
- Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly allowed by the event organizer
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Event Cancellation by Organizer
If an event is cancelled by the organizer:
- You will be notified via email
- Full refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- Refunds will be processed within 10-14 business days
- We are not responsible for any additional costs (travel, accommodation, etc.)
Attendee Cancellation
Cancellation and refund policies vary by event:
- Review the specific cancellation policy for each event before purchasing
- Some events may offer full refunds up to a certain date
- Some events may offer partial refunds or no refunds
- Refund requests must be submitted through our platform or directly to the event organizer
Processing Fees
- Payment processing fees charged by Stripe are non-refundable
- Platform fees (if applicable) are subject to the event's refund policy
Event Organizer Responsibilities
If you are an Event Organizer, you agree to:
Event Management
- Provide accurate and complete event information
- Honor all commitments made to attendees
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and insurance
- Ensure event safety and security
Payment Processing
- Process refunds according to your stated cancellation policy
- Respond promptly to attendee inquiries
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Comply with tax obligations
Content Responsibility
- You own or have rights to all content you post
- Content does not violate any third-party rights
- Content is accurate and not misleading
- You grant us a license to use your content to provide the Service
Intellectual Property
Our Intellectual Property
- All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by us or our licensors
- Our trademarks, logos, and brand names are our property
- You may not use our intellectual property without written permission
Your Content
- You retain ownership of content you post
- By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content
- You represent that you have the right to grant this license
- We may remove content that violates these Terms

Disclaimers
Service Availability
- We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
- The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
- We are not liable for any losses resulting from Service unavailability
Event Information
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of event information provided by organizers
- We are not responsible for changes made by event organizers
- Attendees should verify event details directly with organizers
Third-Party Services
- Our Service integrates with third-party services (Stripe, email providers, etc.)
- We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party services
- Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and conditions
Limitation of Liability
General Limitation
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for any losses resulting from:
- Event cancellations or changes
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Errors or omissions in event information
- Technical failures or interruptions
- Actions of other users or third parties
Event-Related Liability
- We are not responsible for events organized through our platform
- Event organizers are solely responsible for their events
- We do not guarantee event quality, safety, or outcomes
- Attendees participate in events at their own risk
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kivalliq Chamber of Commerce, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another
- Content you post or transmit
- Your events (if you are an Event Organizer)
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nunavut, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, Canada.
Class Action Waiver
You agree that disputes will be resolved individually and not as part of a class action.
Termination
Termination by You
You may stop using our Service at any time by:
- Closing your account (if applicable)
- Discontinuing use of the Service
- Contacting us to request account deletion
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the Service
Effect of Termination
Upon termination:

We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, or internet failures.
